NEHC Men - Week 2 Release
MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly awards for games played through Sunday, November 7. Babson College teammates Ryan Black (Pomfret, Conn.) and Brad Arvanitis (Holliston, Mass.) were named Player and Goaltender of the Week respectively. Clark Kerner (Kansas City, Kan.) of Norwich University earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Player of the Week
Ryan Black – Babson College
(Senior, Forward – Pomfret, Conn.)
Black finished the weekend with three goals and two assists for five points for 11th-ranked Babson. The senior forward scored twice and contributed two assists to match his career high with four points in Friday's 6-3 win over No. 13 Elmira. Black followed it up by scoring the game-tying goal midway through the third period as the Beavers skated to a 2-2 OT tie with fifth-ranked Hobart on Saturday.
Goaltender of the Week
Brad Arvanitis – Babson College
(Gr., Goaltender – Holliston, Mass.)
Arvanitis went 1-0-1 with a 2.41 goals against average and a .926 save percentage in two starts over the weekend. The senior netminder made a season-high 37 saves in Friday's 6-3 win over 13th-ranked Elmira and followed it up by stopping 26 of 28 shots to help the Beavers earn a 2-2 OT tie with No. 5 Hobart on Saturday.
Rookie of the Week
Clark Kerner – Norwich University
(Freshman, Forward – Kansas City, Kan.)
Kerner led Norwich to a four-point weekend by scoring four points, including three goals, and tallying one assist. Kerner had a hand in both of Norwich's goals in the final 1:23 to rally to a 3-3 tie vs. UMass Boston. Kerner tallied the primary assist to cut the deficit to 3-2 and then he scored the game-tying goal with 10 seconds left in the game. Kerner scored twice more in Saturday's win over Johnson & Wales. He finished with a +3 plus-minus rating on the week.
Honor Roll
Noah Williams – Norwich University
(Senior, Forward – Cortland, N.Y.)
Williams scored a goal and had four assists for a five-point weekend to help lead Norwich to a win over Johnson & Wales and a tie vs. UMass Boston. Williams had a hand in both goals in the final 1:23 of Friday's 3-3 tie vs UMass Boston where the Cadets scored twice to rally to get the point. He scored the goal to cut it to 3-2 with 1:23 left and then had an assist on the game-tying goal with 10 seconds left. Williams then tallied three assists in Saturday's win over Johnson & Wales.
Kaeden Patrick – Skidmore College
(Freshman, Forward – Vancouver, B.C.)
Patrick had two goals and two assists in Skidmore's 6-2 nonconference victory at Anna Maria on Friday. He finished with a +3 rating, notched a power-play goal, and tallied four shots.
Anthony D'Aloisio – University of Southern Maine
(Senior, Goaltender – Frisco, Texas)
D'Aloisio started both games in net for the Huskies. He made a whopping 92 saves combined in both battles. In the hard fought 2-2 draw against #13 Elmira on Saturday, D'Aloisio stopped a career-high 47 shots to help the Huskies earn a point in the league standings.
