NEHC Men's Weekly Honors - Week Eight

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly awards for games played through Sunday, January 12th. Elmira's Ryan Reifler (Binghamton, N.Y.) was selected Player of the Week. Norwich netminder Sami Molu (Toronto, Ontario) earned Goaltender of the Week honors while Albertus Magnus' Maksim Tseglnik (Moscow, Russia) took home Rookie of the Week accolades.

Player of the Week

Ryan Reifler – Elmira College
(Senior, Forward - Binghamton, N.Y.)
Reifler tallied five points through three games as the Soaring Eagles opened 2025 with three wins. Reifler recorded the game-winning goal on Friday to go along with one assist against SUNY Geneseo. He followed on Saturday with two goals and one assist in an overtime win against SUNY Brockport. Reifler also tallied a +4 plus/minus rating through three games for the Soaring Eagles.

Goaltender of the Week

Sami Molu - Norwich University
(Sophomore, Goaltender - Toronto, Ontario)
Molu continued to be the backbone of the Cadets, turning away 44 shots during a weekend sweep of UMass Boston. He finished the weekend with a .936 save percentage and a 1.50 goals against average.

Rookie of the Week

 

Maksim Tseglnik - Albertus Magnus College
(Freshman, Forward - Moscow, Russia)
TsegInik netted a hat trick in just the second game of his career during the Falcon's 10-1 win over Southern Maine.

HONOR ROLL

Chace Hale - Albertus Magnus College
(Freshman, Goaltender - Pittsburgh, Pa.)

Hale made 20 saves on 21 shots, finishing with a .952 save percentage to lead the Falcons to a 10-1 victory over University of Southern Maine.

Tanner Daniels - Hobart College
(Junior, Forward - Edinboro, Pa.)

Daniels led the Statesmen to a pair of wins over Skidmore this past weekend, recording four points on a goal and three assists. He also played a key role in Hobart's penalty kill unit against the Thoroughbreds. On Friday, he played a major part in Hobart's comeback, recording three points in the third period, including the game-tying goal. On Saturday, Daniels had an assist in the third period.

Brendan Kennedy - Babson College
(Junior, Forward - Georgetown, Ontario)

Kennedy produced two goals and two assists for four points to help Babson sweep a weekend series with Castleton. 

Sam Anderson - Albertus Magnus College
(Senior, Forward - Calgary, Alberta)

Anderson potted a hat trick, with all goals coming in the third period in Friday's 10-1 win over Southern Maine. His second goal of the game made him the all-time leader in goals scored in Albertus history with 36.

Zach Lindewirth - Skidmore College
(Senior, Forward - Gillette, N.J.)
Lindewirth had four points on three goals and an assist over the weekend as the Thoroughbreds played two tight games against top-ranked and undefeated Hobart. He scored twice, both on the power play, on Friday before going for a goal and an assist Saturday. Lindewirth played a part in four out of the six Skidmore goals.

Jack Herron - New England College
(Sophomore, Forward - Lake in the Hills, Ill.)

Herron had a big weekend in NEC's two games against a Salve Regina team that ranks in the top half of the NEHC standings. Herron tallied two goals and two assists - good for a four-point week. On Friday night, Herron contributed to both Pilgrim goals, scoring the first and earning the lone assist on the second. In Saturday's rematch, Herron assisted on the team's first goal which made it a 2-1 game, and later scored a go-ahead goal early in the third period to have temporarily given the Pilgrims a 3-2 lead.
