NEHC Women's Weekly Honors - Week Three

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly awards for games played through Sunday, November 17th. Elmira College’s Erika Goleniak (Canton, Mich.) earned Player of the Week honors. William Smith’s Erin Murray (Hanover, Mass.) was tabbed Goaltender of the Week while Vermont State Castleton’s Brooke Noble (Mississauga, Ontario) was selected Rookie of the Week.

Player of the Week

Erika Goleniak – Elmira College
(Senior, Forward – Canton, Mich.)
Goleniak netted six goals and one assist to help the Soaring Eagles go 2-0 on the week against New England College. Goleniak scored two goals to go along with one assist on Friday and followed with a 4-goal performance and her first career hat trick on Saturday against NEC.

Goaltender of the Week

Erin Murray - William Smith College
(Senior, Goaltender - Hanover, Mass.)
Murray was 1-1-0 in goal for the Herons this weekend, stopping 42 of the 44 shots she faced. On Friday, Murray made 25 saves. The next night she stopped 17 shots as she picked up her second shutout of the season. She finished the weekend with a .99 GAA and a .955 SV%.

Rookie of the Week

Brooke Noble - Vermont State Castleton
(Freshman, Forward - Mississauga, Ontario)
Noble notched her first career goal during a two goal, two assist game versus Albertus Magnus on Friday. The first-year forward followed up the next day by providing another goal to help Spartans secure a 2-1 win and the weekend sweep of Albertus Magnus.

HONOR ROLL

Tori Walsh - Albertus Magnus College
(Sophomore, Forward – Marystown, Newfoundland)

Walsh notched three of her team’s four goals over the weekend. The sophomore forward gave the Falcon’s a chance to win on Saturday, tallying the game-tying goal in the second period to force the game to overtime.

Olivia Boyer – Norwich University
(Junior, Forward – St. Paul, Minn.)

Boyer tallied the game-tying goal in the third period before the Cadets went on to win 2-1 win over Salve Regina on Friday. She followed up the next day with another goal and added an assist to lead the Cadet’s to a 3-0 win and the weekend sweep of Salve Regina.

Gaby Matson - Elmira College
(Freshman, Forward - Raleigh, N.C.)

Matson netted one goal and five assists in a pair of shutout victories against New England College over the weekend. Matson scored a goal to go with an assist on Friday and followed that performance with four assists in Saturday's victory. Matson was a +9 through the two games and won 24 of her 33 faceoffs.

Leonie Kuehberger – Elmira College
(Senior, Goaltender – Hingham, Mass.)

Kuehberger recorded a pair of shutouts for the Soaring Eagles against New England College. The senior netminder recorded eight saves on Friday and followed with 11 saves on Saturday to help the Soaring Eagles to a 2-0 weekend.
