NEHC Women's Weekly Honors - Week Six

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly awards for games played through Sunday, December 8th. Vermont State Castleton teammates Taylor Adams (Frankford, Ontario) and Victoria Bakopanos (Kirkland, Quebec) earned Player of the Week and Co-Goaltender of the Week honors, respectively. University of Southern Maine’s Haley McKim (Moncton, New Brunswick) took home Co-Goaltender of the Week accolades while New England College’s Greta Grant (Brownfield, Maine) nabbed the Rookie of the Week selection.

Player of the Week

Taylor Adams - Vermont State Castleton
(Freshman, Forward - Frankford, Ontario)
Adams notched her first career hat trick and the game-winning goal in Castleton's 6-2 victory over Worcester State.

Co-Goaltenders of the Week

Victoria Bakopanos - Vermont State Castleton
(Graduate, Goaltender - Kirkland, Quebec)
Bakopanos exploded for 88 saves in two games for the Spartans this week. She made a new career high 63 stops against Williams college, the most by a Spartan since 2015. She then followed up with a 25-save performance against Worcester State to secure her third victory of the season.

Haley McKim – University of Southern Maine
(Senior, Goaltender- Moncton, New Brunswick)
McKim made 92 saves in a weekend series against No. 11 Elmira. She finished the weekend with a .939 save percentage.

Rookie of the Week

Greta Grant - New England College
(Freshman, Defense - Brownfield, Maine)
Grant tallied two points from the defensive back line this week, connecting on an assist on Friday night against Keene, before scoring her first career goal against the Owls the next day.

HONOR ROLL

Meadow Gilchrist - New England College
(Junior, Forward - Stamford, Conn.)
Gilchrist continued her strong season with a pair of goals and one assist, totaling three points in two games against Keene State on Friday and Saturday. With her team-leading sixth goal of the season on Saturday, Meadow now ranks fourth in the conference in goals.

Megan Azzato - Salem State University
(Sophomore, Forward - Falmouth, Mass.)
Azzato scored two goals and added an assist for three points for Salem State (1-1) this week. The sophomore scored in the Vikings' 3-2 loss to Rivier and added a goal and assisted on the game-tying effort as Salem State came back to defeat MCLA.
